The girlfriend and I are headed to Nashville next weekend and looking for suggestions on things to do. We have a small list but would love tO see some good local music and of coarse some beers and BBQ.

My brother will be there getting his stem cell transplant but I doubt that would be any fun for someone visiting. I have a feeling we will be spending a good bit of time there over the next few months too so I'm interested in seeing what suggestions for food you get.

tootsie. its two blocks up from broadway. The best real nashiville bar for live music and really the only one left that still is a proving ground for stars.
blindhorse is fun for a tourist trap.
there is a good little brewery right across from the hardock on the corner of broadway on the river.
Have to make it to the Rhyman....we saw Zac Brown there on news years a couple years ago that was a cool experience.

Oh yeah, just below the blindhorse...there is a little duck in Charlie Daniels music museum....I think its free or mayeb a dollar. It will only take up 30 minutes or so...but it is worth seeing if nothing else for the Skynard collection including Ronnie Van Zant's first guitar....

The wife and I love Nashville....

Printers Alley is pretty cool, might want to check it out.

There's a restaurant there call "Dick's". You gotta go, but, expect the employees there to be rude. That's their job, hence the name "Dick's".

Dont forget to do your girlfriend on the bridge from the titans stadium to broadway. Cant recall the name but its the one from the "save a horse, ride a cowboy" video. Girls used to be in to that when I was in school there a couple years ago. I miss nashville but I havent been since 06

Me and wife did about everything there was in Nashville for our honeymoon.

The Broken Spoke Songwriters Cafe - Open Mike Night is a must!!! It was lots more memorial than any the other I saw while I was there. Groups of 4 or 5 takes turns on stage to exchange original tunes they wrote on acoustic guitar and they were a hoot! They got like 3 or 4 songs each then a new set would hop on stage. And I think it was free if I recall???
