Ok this is a shameless plug/solicitation but its for a GREAT cause.

My daughter is a freshman in high school and a member of the student council/government deal.
They support this cause that I think is worthwhile and I wanted to see if any of my fellow
NC4x4 addicts wanted to participate.

For $10 you purchase a build-a-bear that the students go make and on Valentine's day they deliver these bears to kids in the Hospital with long term illnesses. I am attaching a copy of the flyer that the school puts out.

Kids charities are special to me, and something so small that can brighten a child's day is a cause I feel like getting firmly behind.

Whoever sponsors the bear gets to name it whatever they want, (as long as its appropriate) and the bear will be given to a child with a birth certificate with the name on it.

If the kids reach the limit at Levine's there are 3 other area Children's Hospitals and the Ronald McDonald house that are participants as well.

This is done at my daughter's school so there isnt an electronic payment options, but if anyone is interested I will provide my wife's paypal (I dont have paypal) and I will provide you with a picture of your bear with your chosen name as proof that the funds went where they said they would.

To sweeten the pot, I am committing to personally buy 1 matching bear for everyone that the NC4x4 Family buys so your donation will be doubled.

Who is in?

Ill do 5. If you will be in rock hill anytime soon I can give you cash or if paypal is better...

Wow....you guys over exceeded my expectations!
I was hoping to sell 10 or maybe 20 bears total but we've blown through that in an hour.

I'm going to cheat now, and set my personal stop at $500....beyond that Ill donate to a worthy cause or we might overwhelm the program.

PMs inbound.

Appreciate all the generosity.
It's heart warning and humbling. I'm not a softy but y'all got me in my feels.

Based on conversation with the teacher today, I'm going to shut this down. We may be reaching mac here.

Thanks again, I will post up some pics when time comes.

Quick Update

NC4x4 Purchased 68 Bears for sick kids!
I matched my 50. Adding on to the 10 my daughter sold on her own (SLACKER!!!!) that brought her sold total to 128.
When she sold the others she collected money from them as she went. So the attached check shows just the contribution by the NC4x4 family.

I forgot to snap a pic this AM, so just texted my daughter and had her send these before she turns them in at 3rd block. You can see freshman math in the background lol..

My kids got the chore of coming up with some 70 names.

I added a rule that none could e named after Sports teams that didn't have an alternate meaning. I figured it would really suck to be a NCSU fan and be sick and get a bear named Tarheel.
So Tiger was ok (because Woods) but other sports names were off limits.

However at one point my kids did start going through the Clemson roster in their heads.

Thread is back open for conversation but donation period HAS ENDED

So the BAB program Saturated the Levine's Hospital...every sick child staying in Levine's tonight should eb the proud recipient of a bear.
Next They moved to the Ronald McDonald House (pictured)...and filled it up as wel
And Hemby Children's Hospital rounded out the contributions.

In order of delivery the kids just left Ronald McDonald and are headed to Levine's. Hopefully more pictures to come.
This is our first year working with Hemby and we have been told the kids cant come in, they just drop the Bears off at the door. SO may not get a picture there.

All in all YCHS donated 528 Bears to make kids smile.
Team NC4x4 is responsible for 128!!!!

Great job guys.
Thanks.
