I don't know how to say this that will not come off as rude, so I'll just let it fly. You don't have a weighted tag, so since you don't plan on pulling anything more than a jet ski or a hot dog cart, your vehicle is useless for what it's designed for - hauling stuff. While it's a pretty truck, and I don't doubt you have a ton of money into it, it's a show vehicle.

You could probably pull into any truck show and win some kind of trophy for "Shiniest Chrome Lugnuts" or "Best Use of Truck Stop Accessories", but for use as a tow vehicle, practical daily driver or even a contractor truck, it's usefulness is very limited.

What do you need your truck to do for you? If it's all about looks, keep what you got. 4WD won't help you in that arena. If you want a truck you can use, either keep what you have and use it for what it's meant for, or sell it and get something you can use.

I built it to show off with. Its a 6.9. They are horrible tow vehicles to begin with. I built it because I love the body style. I actually use it as a dd driver along with my blazer. But 6.9s just don't haul anything to good. Very reliable but not a good tow pig. So instead of keeping looking like a farm truck I made it into something completely different. Debating on getting rid of it because now its gotten old to me. And I like the performance of the 03 250s. But yes I definitely win on the shiny side of a show stopper. I'm fully aware of that. That's what I built it for. And just kinda tired of it now. Need something else to trick out lol.

And only reason I wish it was 4x4 is because I would love to drive it on the beach. The next dually I trick out will be very similar to this one just 4x4. That way I can enjoy camping with it.

Yea. His was completely overhauled at Rudy's. All the good stuff added and it only has 52 thousand miles on the odometer. So its a strong possibility I might trade.

Does he have anything done to his? Because I think the 03s were the biggest turds of the 6.0L diesels. Correct me if I'm wrong someone, I know more about Chevy stuff.

03 you could get either the 7.3 or 6.0. A friend of mine has a 03 6.0 with 235k and no issues. Had the Egr cooler replaced by Ford once, not sure at what mileage. There was good and bad in every year of the 6.0, but I do think statistically 03 wasn't the greatest.

If he's going to trade you straight across. Then he's pretty dumb. A 6.9L diesel will pull anything that you can legally hook up to that truck. Even when after you get tagged for the proper weight.

6.9s do not pull good. Horrible up any type of incline. They just don't pull that great. All stock 6.9s are like that. I have had quite a few. I love mine but I'm definitely not going to talk it up like she is a mean pulling machine. The automatics don't Even have overdrive unless u install it yourself. They great at pulling around town but definitely not a truck to pull long hauls or up hills. And as far as trade yes it's straight up. He is the same way I am. He is tired of his just like I am. Mine is old yes but value is there.

Trade for the 6.0 stat, especially if it's 4wd and only has 52k miles. That's trading a $5k truck for a $15k truck ($20k plus in the current market)
