Oh wow! Pulling the show from TV is just going WAY too far with this confederate flag stuff. I would watch it now a days if i had time. I have great memories of sitting in front of the TV wearing my footy pajamas and watching Dukes of Hazzard as a kid. I think it came on Friday nights at 8pm.

I feel violated

But - best quote ever:

"Jones then added he would fight for the right to sell the flag.

"I will fight these people until hell freezes over," Jones wrote. "And then I will fight them on the ice.""

You, sir, have my respect.

That's actually a quote from the civil war, the battle of Bulltown. It was said by a Union General after Willian Jackson sent over a surrender order. Here is a paragraph from Wiki on the history of it.

Jackson approached Bulltown secretly. He divided his forces in an attempt to converge on the Union position from two different directions. The Confederates advanced at 4:30am on October 13. They quickly captured the Federal pickets and would have taken the garrison by surprise but one Confederate, whether due to excitement or nervousness, fired his gun and alerted the Union troops.

The Confederates advanced against the fort and a drawn out skirmish lasted until about 4:30pm, almost twelve hours after the battle began. Twice, Jackson sent a flag of truce with a demand to surrender to which Captain Mattingly replied "I will fight until Hell freezes over and then fight on the ice."

Jackson eventually retreated back towards the Greenbrier Valley. Casualties were very light considering the length of the battle. On the Union side there were no fatalities. Captain Mattingly was wounded in the thigh and there were some other slight wounds in the Federal camp. The Confederates lost eight killed and a like number wounded.

One civilian, Moses Cunningham, who owned the farm on which the majority of the battle took place, was wounded when he ran out of his house shouting "Hurrah for Jeff Davis."

I was ok with removing the flag from some public places, but this is getting damn ridiculous. People need to grow a pair, how the hell can you call that show racist!

Are they going to pull Hogan's Heroes too, since there is a Nazi flag on Colonel Klink's uniform? What about All in the Family? Archie was a bigot and didn't mince words about it. Three's Company was filled with latent homophobic humor. The Sound of Music entertained the world with Nazi soldiers falling in love with pubescent girls.

We are quickly getting to Fahrenheit 451 stage.....

Remember, Soylent Green is people.

Why don't we cancel BET since they say the offensive "N" word all the time?

That is the problem with allowing ANY censorship. It is human nature to believe that if some is good, more must be better.

To allow people with "feelings" to dictate what is acceptable in YOUR life, and to tell you what YOUR beliefs are is madness.

There is no book, song, t-shirts, flags or speech (or any other expression of ideas) that should be banned in a society that values Liberty (unless it physically violates the rights of others such as blasting loud music at 1am)

"They came for the Battle Flag and I did nothing, I wasn't a Confederate. They came for the White Christians and I didn't care, I wasn't religious. Then they came for the Liberty minded and I didn't care, I wasn't a radical. They finally came for me, and there was nobody left to help. "

What a joke. I just saw that Bubba Watson (whoever he is, sounds like a golfer?) had bought the General Lee at an auction. Now he says he is going to remove the Confederate flag and put an American flag on the roof. Sell the car to someone that will leave it as-is, that is against all things holy to remove the flag from the roof of that car...

Sure wish I had a confederate flag to fly while I drive my truck in the Kernersville parade tomorrow...

Bubba Watson = piece of shit

I cannot believe that dingleberry is doing that to the General Lee.

when will the insanity end? Even NASCAR is now asking people to not bring confederate flags to races. The last great redneck stronghold has now crumbled to the pressure of political correctness. Ricky bobby, where are you when we need you most?

Well I am gonna drive through the Kernersville with a huge truck tomorrow, a confederate flag, and I might just sit a M60 (fake) machine gun on the hood just for good measure.

Watch for me on the news, might be surrounded by kville PD.

Please film it on the go pro!

I hung the flag on the back of the truck. As I pulled onto the road out of the parking lot I was watching in my mirrors and saw a few people spot it (a police officer, and a couple parade organizers), the PO walked around the back and looked at it but that was it, a parade organizer saw it and threw up his hands like "oh well, too late now", then about 200 feet down the road the lady parade organizer ran up and asked me if I would "mind" removing it, she even said they asked someone else to remove his and he did. I told her I did mind, she said, "well OK" and walked off.

Surprisingly enough, no shots were fired by me, or at me. I thought the Confederate flag was all about hate or something?
