Note to people who aren't familiar with driving in snow. When you see snow between the tire tracks, the road is very slippery and crossing lanes is very difficult.
I remember a trip on I90 in mid 90s, like it was yesterday.. headed back from Syracuse back to school in Utica, roads were snow covered, lanes had 2-3" of snow, plows couldn't keep up, almost white out conditions, cars, big trucks, just driving off the shoulders and into the median, unable to see anything, an 18 wheeler about 4 cars up lost traction and his trailer start jack knifing on him , it was sideways across both lanes almost into the median. It was almost in slow motion, he kept his cool, and got traction back and accelerated and pulled it in line, could have been bad, but wasn't......
