This is horrible!

Note to people who aren't familiar with driving in snow. When you see snow between the tire tracks, the road is very slippery and crossing lanes is very difficult.

I remember a trip on I90 in mid 90s, like it was yesterday.. headed back from Syracuse back to school in Utica, roads were snow covered, lanes had 2-3" of snow, plows couldn't keep up, almost white out conditions, cars, big trucks, just driving off the shoulders and into the median, unable to see anything, an 18 wheeler about 4 cars up lost traction and his trailer start jack knifing on him , it was sideways across both lanes almost into the median. It was almost in slow motion, he kept his cool, and got traction back and accelerated and pulled it in line, could have been bad, but wasn't......

Yeah, that shit where there's ~3" of slop on the road is dangerous as hell. Sometimes you're on pavement, sometimes you're in slush, but your tires cut through to the pavement, then every once in a while you get up on top of it and can't break through. If it's actual snow that hasn't been churned too much, there's some friction involved in breaking trail.

HOLY SHIT! That's gotta be worse than today! Missed the whole story, but on 485, Charlotte, line of cars stopped on a in a travel lane,[STUPID], trying to exit, when a tractor trailer driver, distracted by his cell phone, failed to notice. He ran 1/2 way over the first car he hit, & knocked dozens more, like bowling pins. At least 1 child killed, maybe more. Driver so far, charged with reckless driving. NOT mentioned; Jan.1st., new commercial law; texting outlawed, hands free cell use only! Violations= Driver-$2700 / Company-$11,000.

I read it was a troopers dash cam, wasn't it a Freightliner?
