Pre-registration appreciated so we can get a meal count!

Info: http://www.carolina-trailblazers.org/
Registration Form: http://www.carolina-trailblazers.org/docs/Fun_Caravan_2011_Registration_Form.pdf

This will be the 40th annual Fun Caravan, a 4x4, family oriented party for you, your family and your 4x4 rig.

Directly across highway 109 from The Eldorado Outpost on the new site of the Uwharrie Off Road Training Center (UORTC).

There will be a short Southern Four Wheel Drive Association meeting from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. we will have our annual field games which pit you, your co driver (or not) and your 4x4 rig against other attendees in a selection of games including, but not limited to, Blind Driver Run, Roll To The Line, Balance Beam, Ball & Post and more. There will be trophies awarded to the games winners.

From 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. you can ride the trails at Uwharrie, ride the brand new obstacle course on the UORTC site, shop at The Outpost, or just relax in the shade.

At 6 p.m. we will have a catered dinner featuring some of The Outpost's famous vittles, followed by a raffle for some great prizes and a night run on the OHV trails for those still awake!

Only $25 gets you, your family and your rig into the event, primitive camping on site, 1 Saturday night meal (additional meals $6-$8) and 1 raffle ticket (additional raffle tickets $1).

Whether you are an experienced off roader, brand new to the 4x4 scene, a CTB member or not, come on out for some fun, food and fellowship as the Carolina Trail Blazers celebrate their 40th anniversary.

Hey JC the links for the trail blazer parts on the above post seem not top be working.

On another note. What are you guys suggesting guys do with rigs that aren't tagged and insured. I'd like to attend and meet some old friends I haven't seen for some time. My rig doesn't carry proper state maintained legal status stuff. I know the routes from that spot are state regulated and a friend of mine recieved 300 dollars worth of tickets this year on one occasion for just hoping the state road from one trail to the next. He described its was just a strait shot and no run what so ever down the gravel road. And he like myself isn't the sort of guy to have been showing his ass to get this kind of attention.

Any plans for this scenerio?

Should be fixed, thanks for the heads up, as Mike said, cut/paste issue :(

WARRIOR, If I understand your question correctly, untagged vehicles wanting to ride the OHV trails would have to be trailered from the FC site to one of the OHV area parking lots.

I figured that was the standard OP. The last caravan I attended was the 25 ann.. When we left out of the group camp most of those who attended then had properly tagged vehicles, those who didn't nestled in with the rest of the crowd so to speak. The rangers have been cracking down on that type of proceedure. My friend however was given a ticket when he crossed a maintained road from one trail to another. This seemed over board and I honestly don't know where the crossing took place within the trail network. I really hoped that maybe an understanding of sorts could be reached with the authorities concerning a large group moving from the area the CTB plans on camping in to the various trail heads. I know that would be favortism of sorts, but I've heard of stranger things happening. Also if for some strang reason the planned CTB trail route takes me or others with untagged vehicles across such a junction in the trail system I don't want to be left out from the group ride or become a forest rangers "nancy". My friend described that the ranger was staking this crossing out just out of view and actually yanked him out of his small numbered convoy. He wheels a truggied exo toy running a full cab so it wasn't like he was running around in a full tubed out buggy.
However on another point of view I do remember the CTB in the past recomending all vehicles carry tag and insurance but all where welcome when travel and access was not an issue.

Hey JC looks like I will actually be able to come out with my yota on saturday morning maybe we can come over and see you guys. Since im getting out of the military soon I have been thinking about joining up with yalls club.Talk to you soon!
