When I was about 12 my dad had an 85 Comanche, he loved that thing. I don't remember a lot about it, but do remember it was fun. Well he ended up getting t-boned in it and it was totaled. Ever since he always talked about getting another one, but something always came up and he said he would wait alittle longer. Well about 7 1/2 years ago the cancer came back for a 2nd time and my dad passed away. Now I have the chance to fulfill his dream, make it kinda like he wanted but make it alittle more my style. This will be a slow build as I don't have a lot of time. But it will get there.

Here is what i'm working with. 1987 Jeep Comanche 4x4, 2.5L 4 speed. Pretty much all stock and needs lots of work. It has some rust, but hey it's a 87 jeep. It does run, and drive.

My plans:
Replacing all vacuum lines soon, they are broke or just missing right now.
New valve cover gasket.
Thinking of doing a 4.5" lift and running 31x10.50x15's.
Replace floor pans.
Fixing the cab corners (rust)
Taking bench seat out and putting in XJ bucket seats.
Adding XJ Center Console.
Taking bed off and having Metalwerx make me a flat bed. I'm thinking of putting a cage on back similar to the wranglers. Thinking of putting a bench seat in the back. So roll cage is a must. What do u guys think?
I'm sure i'll come up with more. And i'm open to suggestions. Wish me luck!

I need some feedback. I'm thinking about taking the bed off and doing a flat bed, but add a cage kinda like a wrangler. What do u guys think? Too much?

Keep the bed maybe a bob but no wrangler cage my on opinion.
After looking at pics of mj bobbed beds, I have to admit I like it. I may go for that.
