Those of you running FORD dual piston front calieprs and gm rear calipers.... what mc

It's all in the fluid dynamics Eric...If you like the way your buddy's YJ handled, but you wanted a hair more feedback (read, slightly stiffer peddle), you would just wanna step up to the next size master cylinder.

Force = pressure / area

The bigger the cross sectional area (bore of m.c.), then the required pressure for the same caliper clamping force must also get bigger (i.e., you hafta push a little harder, and the peddle will feel less spongy).

Is the 'Vette m.c. 1 1/8"?

thanks guys....

as for his yj.... he has a 1 1/16" bore MC from a decently new ford... the pedal is waaaaay too soft/feedback free.... yes it locks up the brakes... but it does it waaay too easy

i'm running a 1 1/8" bore so i'm up a size BUT my MC was designed for hydro boost so it's designed to have MORE vacuum... while his, in my wild guess, is designed to have less vacuum pulled than his 4.0 so it's getting MORE vacuum that it's supposed to resulting in a softer pedal is my GUESS.... sound about right?

after driving it today i actually am really happy with it. i'd like the pedal to be slightly easier to press but i can live with it the way it is.... the addition of a prop. valve for the rears will make me completely satisfied with the stopping power, but i will still lack the pedal feel that i WANT (not need).

switched my lines back after cutting off the fittings and reflaring the correctly sized fitting on the correct tubing....

the rear port on the MC is bigger... it goes to the rear port on my stock prop. valve which goes to my front brakes

the fron (smaller) port on my new MC goes to the front port on my stock prop valve which goes to the rear brakes.

pedal feels better... i'm very happy with it.

brakes.... whoa... i'm taking another video tomorrow... haha... this son of a bitch stops so good that my fuel pump starves for fuel and the damn jeep stalls after it lurches to a stop, haha

I'm AMAZED at how awesome the brakes work

-Erik <--- might need an anti-wrap bar up front to keep from twisting my pretzels from hard braking!

Now you have your brake lines the way I do. I was starting to wonder because my brakes are awesome. Glad to see you got everything working right. Waiting on vid.

well i read some contradicting things about how to hook up the MC so i was unsure of wht to do and switching the lines was the easiest thing to try first..... now i know/we know the "right" way to do it, hehe

video coming tomorrow...

damn these things stop awesome!
