Went and picked up a 79 powerwagon and the guy had this sitting out to the side of his building.

Sweet! Is that the nissan diesel?

aka CJ10A, not usually for pulling airplanes, used mostly for ground support equipment, most were 2wd only, way deep gears and heavy as hell

brad, chip had 1. sold it to someone on here. there is a build thread buried somewhere. the real question is . will he sell it?

Yep an Air Force Tug
CJ-10, came with a nissan diesel, 727 trans, 2WD,
I sold mine to Gavin, I think it's in Texas now.
Had a heavier frame than a CJ, looked more like a J-truck Frame.

correct. still had a transfer case though, np208 iirc, that was locked in 2wd low range. Also has solid front axle, just no diff.

Yeah I forgot about that part. Easy to put a Dana 300 in, Swap in a 44 or a 60, and make it 4wd. Pretty short though, IIRC shorter than a CJ-5, but stretching it out wasn't too big of a deal. That nissan was pretty weak though

when I first joined the AirForce in 00' I drove one of those to deliver equipment on the flightline!

thats awesome!
