I have nice set of 6 lug 15X8 billet wheels my wife wants to put on her jeep and I have been looking at wheel spacers/adapters.It will be goin from a wrangler 5-4.5 pattern to a GM 6-5.5 pattern and will be 2 inches thick.I have never ran spacers before so I really dont know how to feel about them.So who's ran them and what was your experience with them. One concern is the extra leverage it will put on the Dana 35 by the tires bein spaced 2 inches on each sde.It will also have 33 inch MT claws. This jeep will mostly be her summer commuter back and forth to work and will see very limited trail use.

Spacers are fine to use. I've never heard of any complaints with them. I plan to run them on my rear 8.8 axle.

Better yet where's a cheap place to find them? I can't for the life of me justify $100 for two friggin spacers..

i got a new set off craiglist for $45 bucks:fuck-you:

Been running them on the rear of The Krawler for years.

Don't know about that though :) You'll find lots of folks that don't like or recommend them.

IMO, torque them to spec. Run for a week and check them again. Should be good to go from there. I check mine occasionally when I have the wheel off.

Most ppl. who complain used a cheap set or didn't torque them right or recheck them. As for price 100-150 seems to be the going rate for 1 pair.

ive always used red thead lock on the studs for alittle insurance.. ive been running 3inch trail-gear spacers for a while now with no issues.

As everyone has said, spacers are fine as long as you keep an eye on the lugs. The lugs will seat into the aluminum over the first few thousand miles. You will probably be able to tighten them the first few times you check them, but eventually you will check them and they will still be tight. At this point, you can check them less regularly.

One thing to keep in mind with a 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 spacer is that it is a 2 piece spacer, and checking the 5x4.5 lugs will be difficult.

I have ran them on a D44 as well as my current 8 lug setup. Never had an issue. Search Ebay. There are some good deals.

I bought a set of axles, springs and wheels for $100 and found they had the 1.250 spacers on them. What a deal, I put them on that day and haven't had any problems. Do check your lugs after the first few hundred miles just to be safe.

This concerns me IF the wheels have the proper offset for the jeep right now, without the 2" adapters.
