Thousand dollar box....

As far as requiring a signature, that's on the shipper or the buyer if you request it. If UPS or FedEx had to wait at every house for someone to come to the door and sign for it, they wouldn't deliver very many packages. And then you have the houses where no one is home and the packages go back. It could quickly pile up.

I heard a news report a couple years ago where thieves were following the brown truck around town collecting the packages left on front steps. I have most of my crap sent to my folks place. It's kinda funny even though they are always home, it usually takes several days before they realize there is a package on their front steps (actual time to finding said package is directly related to dad's lawn cutting schedule. Turns out he eventually notices a box a some point during the 200 times he crosses past the steps while mowing). I do like amazon in particular as I seem to get a text within minutes of the brown truck leaving. I can call them and they'll drag the shit inside. Either way it beats the hell out of dealing with actually going somewhere to buy stuff in person and dealing with all the bullshit that generally entails.

What was in the box, is now out of the box.....

Very nice! I got a bunch of gift certificates from the wife for Christmas and trying to decide which one will be dropping into mine.
