Picked up 3 ticks over the weekend so I was wondering what worked best to keep them off. Anything better then others? Any natural products?

Deet slows them down, but doesn't keep them off.

hard to keep them off you. I use bug spray with high deet. turkey season is just around the corner and checking my mineral sites during the summer. I go thru a couple of cans. spray my body before I get dressed is about the best luck I have had with them. sawyers makes a spray that you put on your clothes and let dry. it is supposed to be scent free also. I will have to look up the name.

3m Ultrathon is the best repellent I have found.

Sawyer® Duranon Permethrin Insect Repellent. sorry it is so bold. copied from cabelas. going to try some on my leafy suit for turkey season. I will still spray myself down though. those little boogers are tough.

If your gettin them in the woods hiking/huntin answering the call of nature while wheeling etc. wear at least over the ankle boots, long pants, and ductape the pantlegs to your boots so they can't reach your legs and they can't crawl up the slick tape either. Then spray your bugspray on your boots, lower legs and around your belt/waist, arms, neck etc. That's the best way I know to stop the Bastard, tiny, ground pepper sized ones you cannot feel crawling on you. It also helps w the DAMN chiggers !. If your gettin them in your yard/grass, poison the bastards w a broadcast pest control product that may have to be used several times a summer.

As said, Sawyers works great. I've been using it for a long time now, couldn't tell you the last time I brought a tick home.

My Aunt, now passed away, used to to pick black berries as soon as they were ripe until they were gone, sides of the road mostly, nothing to see her on I-40 picking away.
As a young boy, she was my favorite relative. Mom used to fuss because I would hang with her, but come back covered in chiggers and ticks. Come to find out, Aunt Betty had a secret weapon against the varmints She had small rags, with kerosene on them, that she pinned to her pant legs around her shoes. She used pins to keep from getting the kerosene on her hands. She did however, wash her hands after she pinned them on. Kept her bug free.
