Tie Rod Question

My 90 XJ's tie rod has rubber bushings and they look terrible! I want to replace them with polyurethane bushings. The tie rod itself isn't loose and there is very little "play" in the steering. It started wobbling really bad which got me looking under the front end. My question is....
Should I replace the tie rod ends as well or just change out the bushings?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

I think I'd balance the tires first if there isn't any play in the steering.

it's not really a bushing, it's more of a sleeve or...cap. I can't think of what the actual name of it is. basically all it does is keep the greese in there.

I would do what the other guy said, and maybe get an alignment
if that doesn't fix the wobble, then it would probably be better to change the TRE. the sleeve thing wouldn't affect the wobbling like that (although the poly ones are awesome, they last a lot longer)

edit: its a dust boot, duh!

Or you can get them locally at AutoZoo for about $1 more ($4.99 + tax).

Been running them on my junk, mainly because they laugh at a pickle fork unlike the OEM rubber boots (OK, & they're cheaper than OEM :flipoff2:), for about 10 years...
