My Fiance and I went gem panning the other day at Castle McCulloch and have a couple of Geodes a little smaller then Tennis balls that need to be cut open and was just wondering if anyone in the area would be willing to cut these open for us. Thanks in Advance.

PM Dylan W. He is in Mocksville and lays tile for a living. He might be able to help ya out. Im in Shelby and I would do it, but its a longer ride.

IDK, that stuff is gonna make for some lumpy flooring....

You're about 2.5 hours away from me. Too much in gas just to have those things cut. But, I'm only an hour from Uwharrie if you want to cut some rocks and climb some rocks all in one trip. haha

You could always mail it to somebody w/ a saw, total cost $3-4 each way. Not much different from driving arund teh state yourself.

I think a wet saw would do better than a grinder. The blade is fixed and wont cut you on a tile saw, that way you could keep both hands on the geode. Also the water will keep everything cooler. You can mail them to me and Ill cut them. Take it to PMs if youre interested.

PM sent Johnny. I will actually be in Raleigh this weekend.
