Yes, 1" will clear the tires.

Or, I'm getting ready to order the parts to make one for my own 4Runner out of teh same stuff roger (4Crawler) uses, if you want I could get/make the mounts for you as well, it'd be cheaper for both of us that way if it all coems form the same UHMW rod.
If you really want to do a 2nd trail-only rid, them get some 30 or 31" tires, A/T for this puppy. It will get better mpgs and pep.
