trying to set the timing on a 77 cj5 its the inline 6. Installed a new cam and am trying to find a pic of where to set the cam and crank before I put on the new chain and gears.

I just checked my Chilton’s service manual; it shows the two timing marks on the timing gears. The two marks should point at each other. This means once installed the crank timing mark should be at the 12 o’clock position and the cam timing mark should be in the 6 o’clock.

thanks for the help. The cam is offset to the left of the block so if I but them at 12 and 6 they wont be pointing at each other though you see what Im saying.

Sorry Chiltons does show them at an angle like that, I should have had my times as maybe 10 an and 4. Any ways the key is that both marks are pointed at each other.
