tips on fixing a cracked dash pad

I was wondering if anyone has used that stuff at advance auto parts that fixes cracks? It's located over there with the windshield scratch kits, and rtv. I have about a 2-3" long crack in my dash pad. Or is there anything else i can use to fix this?

Get some acetone and a large Styrofoam cup , pour a little of the acetone in the cup and stir. It will melt into a goo ,apply goo in said crack , let it dry, sand and paint to match.
