so Im rolling down I77 in my legacy and my goodyear left front with <10k miles lets go of about 1/4 of its tread and the steel is showing and all eaten up- tire still held air. what gives? gotem from wallyworld last winter and run them with the right rotation and air. havent hit anything, so is this a defect? what course of action to I take?

wallyworld...don't they have the no questions asked, return them for a replacemetn tire, below a certain mileage?
we'll see in the AM.
its amazing that it still holds air. I mean it just ripped apart the corner where the tread meets sidewall. a big chunk is just gone. tons of steel splayed out everywhere. btw- I have NO intention of buying the replacement that they are going to install... these are not generic crap tires, nor were they abused.

I worked for Sams Club and they would give tires to anyone that was not happy with the ones thay had run your tires for 50 k with no rotate and come in and get 4 new ones free they did it all the time so just go in and they will give u a new tire or maybe 4 if you ask for them that way they have the same tread left

It's not the tire it is the so called driver:D
on my worst days I can break a steel ball in a rubber room, but dang, this is crazy.

Shopping at Wally world is where you went wrong. Buy tires from someone who doesn't import everything. That's our whole economy trouble right now.
