Sorry guys, i searched and didn't find much...

I'm trying to get an idea of how much it would be to get tires mounted and balanced on my Stock Cherokee rims?

My wife and I's 1st wedding anniversary is coming up soon, and she told me to build a list:huggy:

Since i need to keep the cherokee DD worthy, i am planning on a 3.5" RE super ride (would go used, but saw NAXJA pricing for 289$)

and i want to get 31" maybe 32" BFG A/T KO's. I saw them at the local Sams club for 120$, but i want to factor in how much it would cost to mount them.

Thanks!

ask Sam's....IIRC, they charged $7/tire for mount, balance, and road hazard warranty.

They might be dix about mounting a 10.5" tire on 7" rim, because "the book" says they won't fit.

to be safe

Figure 8$ or less per tire.
You can usually find it for a little under that, but that's to be safe.

Also with a 3.5" on a XJ, you'll want 31s. the 32s will rub unless you hack some fenders. Also the 32s might make you regear to retain DD status. Not sure which gears you got in there now.
The other issue is you might need new rims. Black steelies can be found (quadratec sometimes) for about 40$/rim shipped.
Alloys are a lot pricier.

Probably would want to just get them mounted at Sam's. Also don't forget to factor in an alignment when you do the lift. Firestone does lifetime alignments for only a little more :D and then you just take it in whenever.
hehe

Good luck.

The phone book is a great place to find the cheapest in your neighborhood.
I know it's $10 per tire at Benny's on Hwy 401 just out of Fuquay going towards Raleigh - being the closest small tire buisness to Holly Springs that I know of. Most shops charge around $15 per tire. It's $10 per tire at Kal's on Hwy 42 in Willow Spring where I always go as well. Most small tire stores will balance up to 36" tire. Stephenson's in Fuquay charges $17 per tire but they can balance up to 39". They are jerks to deal with though. They are one of the only 2 businesses in the world that have jerked me around. I would walk home before going back there...

Thanks for the info guys.

So i probably need to pick up some cheap 10x15" rims? or could i pull it off with my 7"x15"'s

i have seen various cheap wheels about, but if i can get away without upgrading i would rather the 150$ go towards under armour (sp?)

Thanks again!

Don't get 10" rims for 30-32" tires.
15x8. Or the 15x7s will work fine for 31" tires.
The 10" rims will "work" but if you ever air down to offroad, or drive on the beach or so that when you run over your laptop it won't hurt it as much (the IBM/Lenovo "titanium hinges" are the real deal and can take 27psi just fine) they will lose a bead MUCH quicker.
The rims being narrower than the tire "pinch" the sidewalls in holding the bead much better than the wide rims will.

discount tire will beat Sam's price and they give you free lifetime balancing and rotating and road hazard.

Discount Tire charged me almost $100 to mount 5 tires last year in Winston Salem. 33x12.5's........ I knew it was crazy but after going to 2 local guys that said they wouldn't fool with "those tires" I went somewhere that was a sure bet. I don't know if they charged me more because I didn't buy my tires there (I had just bought new wheels) or what, but at that point I didn't care.
