I have a hook up for General tires and am in need terribly for my CJ-5 as mine are dry rotted. This is in a 235/75r15 and the options are the regular Grabber MT or the Grabber AT2. I have never wanted a Jeep without mud tires, but this is different. It sees road driving almost exclusively. I may run to Uwharrie or something at some point. The MT will cost me $100 bucks more and I would really like to not spend that $100 extra. What Ye say NC.

I voted AT. I have no experience with Grabbers, but have run both old school BFG ATs and MTs on my CJ-7. The ATs are a lot quieter on the road and actually grip better (its a lot easier to spin MTs on the street :burnout:). If it saves you $100, and you're really not offroading it, there's no reason to go MT. I'm not even convinced the MTs are that much better than ATs at URE. A TSL, yes...MT, not sure.

Ha! If buying the MT means I can spin tires, I'm all over it! My anemic 60 hp 4 cyl slows down when I hit a bug!

I've got the AT2's on my truck, and they are very aggressive for an AT, BUT that's in a 35x12.50 width. I believe the 235/75r15 will have a much smaller lug and tighter spacing. However, looking at pics of the General MT, it doesn't appear to be that aggressive of a mud tire. I'd go with whichever has a deeper OEM tread depth.

Here's the AT2 at about 90% tread depth:

I also have the at on my 350 they ride good and preform well in most anything , with the exception of greasy slick mud.

Who says they don't like the thick stuff! Lol. This was completely unintentional putting around the field this afternoon. I should have known better with all the rain.

I had them red letter Mts on my 2500 one time, they lasted just over a year, and in mud they were terrible. They rode great and were very quiet on the road but myself I don't see how they consider it an off road or mud terrain tire. Gravel roads, dirt roads, yeah but not mud. After they wore out went to that Fierce MT ...world's of difference
