Tire rotation

That's what I thought. Took the Accord in for an oil change, rotate & inspection and they just flopped the tires front to rear. I asked them about that and they said nope, it's recommended to just got front to rear straight up.

That could be their general policy to keep any dummies from mixing up directional tires. I believe Renegade T is correct.

As far back as the late 90s Michelin and Goodyear recommended not criss-crossing radial tires.
Dont know if thats changed or not.

I try to do front to back every other oil change. I do not cross sides.

They only way to rotate tires is how renegadet stated. Fronts cross to back , backs move straight forward. For rwd and back cross to front and fronts move straight back on fwd.

Other wise your tires will never wear even.
Most shops are lazy and move them front to back.

the pattern isn't as important as staying consistent with the pattern you pick. always move 2 tires straight and cross the other 2

I own a couple 2wd Ford trucks/van and they are famous for eating the inside of the front tires. To gain more mileage I keep them rotated and actually dismount and rotate the the tires on the rim once in their life. I can get 60k out of a decent set of tires on work vehicles which is pretty good.
