i have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.... it has a stock suspension.... what is the biggest tires that I can have on them without rubbing or needing a lift kit ?

30 inch tall will rub with the swaybars disconnected, but a little trimming on the bumpers will fix it.

Any reason you do not want a small (spacers) lift installed? Cheap, easy to install, still drives well, and looks good. Just curious?

I have my sway bar connected so the 30” tires will fit without rubbing right .... if I do get a lift how many inches do you recommend to get 33” tires to fit without rubbing ?

My friends and I back in the day did the front to rear swap on the zjs. Used what ever cheap shocks we could find that were a few inches longer than stock. Ran that with 31 inch tires, and disconnected the swaybars when trail riding. Very good, cheap, easy, simple setup on the zj that worked surprisingly well offroad.
I would wait on the 33s, lots more involved, and a zj on 31s will let you have lots of fun offroad....

I guess the question that I should have asked before giving you any of my bad advice, is are you going to just drive the jeep on the road, or use it on the trails?

Some f150 front coils will get 3-4" lift on xjs front, would imagine that would work on a zj as well. Kinda stiff ride though. Don't remember what year f150 and if it was rwd or 4wd.

31s cleared back when I had my 95 even when I had swaybar disconnected with 2” spacers on springs. 32s had minor rubing when disconnect but cleared with minor trimming all on stock wheels. 30s will fit stock height
