Just got a new set of 38.5x16.5x15 TSL's. In the process of a soa, strech, and 44/9" swap on my yj so cash is a little tight. I haven't been able to find any 10" wide wheel but have found a ton of 8" wide. Yall think i'd be alright to run them on a 8" wheel? Thanks.

I got some chrome bullet hole 10" wide (maybe even 12") rims that fit the ford lug pattern with that same size tire on them. If your interested I will sell you the rims but you have to dismount the tires. $100 and they are yours. I am in Jacksonville.

Dang, I'm in Kernersville, that's a long ride.

Back to the original question, yes, you CAN run them on an 8" rim, but you will have to run lower tire pressure to keep the footprint even on the road. It will work as a short term situation until you find the 10" rims. BTW, is this a DD or dedicated trail rig?

Trail rig that gets trailered. sees very few street miles. thanks

i personally would look for 15x12s

Are they 15" wide? I'd go at least 10". But look for something wider.

I would think those axles aren't big enough if you're going to do any rocks. That's alot of weight and momentum on those shafts.

Can they be mounted on 8"? Yes

Should they be mounted on 8"? No

Would it be safe to mount on 8"? No

Are 10" rims perfect for 15" wide tire? Yes

Can you get 10" rims? Yes - they cost about $50 each link

Would 12" be too wide? Yes

Would 12" be ok on the street? Yes

Would 12" be ok off road? No

You can run lower air pressure and not blow the bead on the narrower rim. I run 42x15-15 TSL's on 15x8 rims on my cab truck.

I reckon I'm gonna go with the 8's for the time being. Figure run around 10lbs in em. We'll find out this weekend if I can my jeep back in one piece, Thanks yall
