Tires for a 2003 TRD Tundra 4X4?

I am purchasing the above vehicle, next week. General purpose will be the norm for the application. 95% road....but I still want the "4X4 look". Thinking of an "AT" type tire....but I don't know (newb) even which size I'll need. Any information/suggestions would be appreciated.

The old man got Cooper STT's on his 03 Tundra two years ago. I was so impressed with them I got a set on my 4-Runner this past spring. They wear hold up very well for daily driving. Just make sure to rotate them every 5000. :beer:
 
BFG a/ts get some serious road miles also. I think they look cool enough too
 
Thanks for the recommendations. I haven't picked the truck up, yet.....but I'm thinking (with it being the TRD) the rims are 17"???

DO they make a 270/70? WOuld this be an 7,8 or 9" rim?

Here's a photo of the truck as it sits, right now. I'm not planning on making any alterations to it....for it to accept larger tires. I'm guessing the 265/70r/17's will look just fine on it. Tell me if I'm wrong!

Also....I'll be looking to purchase these next week in the W-Salem area. Prefer BFG's, but am open to others (suggestions?). Anyone know where I could get the best deal?

Exactly,the 265/70 will fit no problem on your stock truck and will look awesome. I bought my Coopers at North Davidson Auto in Welcome.

Guys....Thanks. I'll definitely give the coopers a look. Which "style"/model? Something in the "AT" line is what I'm after. Like I said (I think!....:tongue:), I'll mostly be on-road. But I'm gonna want it to "go" when I do need it to (it'll be my hunting rig, also). Say 95% road, though.

About the leveling kit....

I'm NO WRENCH-HEAD!....lol. Is this something a complete novice could do on his own? Or, is this a dealer/shop installed situation? What are the costs? Benefit(s) gained (only aesthetic)?

I'm not adverse to it....and I'd appreciate it if anyone could post up photos of their leveled Tundra (or otherwise).

**EDIT** After a 2 min. search, it looks like I'm going to need professional installation....lol. Can "most" tire distributors/installers do this when they're putting my new tires on? Any mfr. better than the next? Suggestions? Cost (expected)?
 
Installation cost (Question) was related to the leveling kit installation. Also...cost (and recommendation) for the actual kit, itself. 2" front leveling kit? Or, 3/1?

Or...is it "better" to just go with the front shocks?

I just found out the wheels are 16". Not a deal-breaker by any stretch. But if I'm gonna do the Bilstein 5100's on the front...I have 2 questions:

1. Will the 265/70's give me the look I'm after?
2. What "setting" do I need to use on the 5100's?
