Can any recommend some place in or near Raleigh, where my son can get his 32" MT tires mounted and balanced on some new rockcrawler wheels that he bought? He is a high school student who mows grasses for income so cost is his biggest
concern. Just looking around it looks like most places charge around $20+ to mount and balance a tire if you don't buy it from them. Thanks.

That's about par for the course.
That being said, you can try and call 4wp and see if they will do it a little cheaper. But most places are 20-25$.
They need to make a profit, and pay for tools etc etc.
:)

Further you get from town the cheaper. My favorite is up in Durham that charges $10 mounted and balanced. I'd say pull out the phone book and get to it starting with closest and move out. Your little hole in the walls will be cheaper since there's not as much overhead. Any spin balancer can supposively do like 33" or 34" and smaller.

The guys at Discount Tire on Six Forks are good. One of my good friends is the manger of the new one up on Roxboro St in Durham.

When I lived in the Garner I always used to go to Universal Tire. My parents still get everything wheel/tire related done there. Top notch place.

Avoid any "Just Tires" places, they are the absolute suck and their prices are retarded.

And if it is not stock size they will not touch it!:shaking:

completely not true i worked there for 2 years and we did plenty of tires that were of non stock size.

Ditto, plus I have taken sets of separate wheels and tires up there and had them mounted and balanced. The vehicle they were destined for was no where to be found.

That being said, if not stock is taking a set of 10" wide wheels and wrapping some skinny tires around them so they bubble in they will not do that for safety reasons.

I go to Discount Tire at the corner of High House and 55 in Cary
