what tires are the stock to budget boost size jk owners running? looking for tires for the wifes 4door and was wanting opinions. looking at the 275/70/18 size mainly so i dont buy rims at this time.

275 70 18 are a nice size for a Jk, equals out to a 33 , just put some on a two door at my shop thay was stock size before , made a big difference

With a 2.5" budget boost you can get 35's on easily. A 4 doors starts looking good with 35's. If you go to a 17" wheel, it may actually cost less even with the cost of new wheels plus you can get a wheel with the correct backspace.

levellinebrad - with 35's what am I looking at for gearing? Wife has a 4 door '07 Sahara with the auto and it's time for tires. This rig will rarely see off road, maybe some sand time at the OBX.

I would do 4.88 gears or just leave them alone if you have the 3.73. If you keep stock gears you will need to turn overdrive off all the time. I ran 3.73 with a 37" tire for a while and it was great with od off. I was getting 17.5 MPG. And remember to run it in 4 lo in the sand and air down.

I just regeared on last week thats very similar to what you're talking about doing. I think this was a 10' but they're all the same up until 12'. It had a budget boost, 1.5 wheel spacers with stock wheels, 35' km2s and I regeared it to 4.88. It was the right gear ratio but if you ever wanted to go to a 37 you should gear 5.13 and be done. I personally wouldn't be able to deal with it not being regeared with 35+ tires on it without more than a 3.73.

the 275/70/18's you put on... did they use stock wheels or aftermarket? looking at keeping the stock wheels for now, but dont want rubbing or wheel spacers
