Got a call this afternoon, My grand parents house got broken into. Theives broke in the back window of there house and stole All her jewlery and his, 6-8 quilts that were made by my great grandmother and one that my grandfather got a lady to make him way back before i was even born. These were super nice one of a kind quilts 500.00-1k each. They were in safe keeping to be handed down in my family for many years since they had huge sentimental value also. The jewlery boxs contained all her jewlery that my grandfather had given her over the years (50 years of marraige). Its really sad because they are huge supporters of the local community, church and any function in the neigborhood.

Any one of these people could have knocked on there door and they would have helped them in anyway they needed. It really sickens me to see stuff like this happing....esp to people who try and help. There was lots of loose cash, wraped coins, christmas gifts and etc laying around in plain sight but all that was taken was the no replacable ...and a dvd player:shaking:

I really hope they find these people...or hopefully someone will catch them in the act and click click. Anyways lcok up your stuff and keep it out of sight.

Sorry to hear that. Our farm house keeps getting hit and they steal the most random things. Once they knocked out a window and set a little kid inside to open the doors- you could clearly see little footprints in the glass.
My answer is the same click, click - but I dont own a p.o.s. AR15, so it would actually be shuck-BANG

I think we should go back to the times when a thief was caught, one hand got chopped off... I think thieves are the lowest form of human beings, no excuse for taking something from someone else that they worked hard for, just because you are too lazy to work for it yourself. :flipoff:

Sorry to here about that as well. Hope they do catch them. The best protection (besides the obvious 12 ga) for us is our dogs. I would say that 99.9% of thieves would retreat at the sounds of the dogs barking. As for the .1%, well that would be interesting.

X2...I've got a call into my rental company because some guys came by yesterday to "clean the gutters" but there was no new debris on the ground and they left right when I came outside to see what was going on.

I used to work in a bad part of Detroit and remember down the end of the block you could always find guys selling all sorts of stolen stuff. You knew it was stolen, the cops knew it was stolen, but they could rarely ever do anything about it even if they cared to do anything about it. Sad thing is that I can't imagine someone trying to fence stolen quilts... "Hey man... I got a nice afghan for you.... crocheted it myself.... perhaps a tea cozy?"
