Title for equipment trailer?

As above, thinking about buying a trailer for mini ex.
Trailer is a eager beaver brand with serial # and ID plate. Buyer only has bill of sale to go with it.

Anyone know process to get it tagged?

Vermont registration, then after the first year expires take it and get a NC title/registration. You can get a VT registration with just a bill of sale.

Check at DMV to inquire if it has a lien …

Don't tag it if you don't have to. Paying taxes on it every year sucks.

Went through this a couple of years ago with an enclosed trailer out of Georgia. Took bill of sale to NCDMV and applied for an NC title and tag. Walked out with a plate, but title took about 4 months to come back. Said they have to wait at least 3 months if there is an outstanding lien.
