I have a car that I bought and intended to put into my name. I have a title signed and notarized to me. Selle rand I both signed title and it is notarized.

A guy came by the house to buy some parts and asked me if I wanted to sell it. Almost everything I have it for sale, so of course I said yes.

I'm just wondering about if I can somehow sign the title over to him without me having to pay the title fee and taxes and all, maybe in the assignment by dealer section?

Can anyone help me out on this one?

i was told you can go to dmv with buyer and sign it over to him on the spot i have a samurai title like this now in another guys name and he told me that, or the raleigh dmv will issue an instant title for $15 but you still have to pay taxes

scared to death!!!!!

Raleigh instant title is $75, plus taxes on vehicle. If both of you go to the dmv you do a power of attorney and just have the title sent to him. Done it more than once.
I have seen reassignment on the dealer section but supposedly it has to be done by the same notary who did the first assignment, but not 100% on that.

Yeah, I know instant title is $75 plus taxes. I'd be looking at about $125 probably for getting it into my name.

The main issue is that he is buying it for his daughter for Christmas as a surprise and it will be put in her name, so can't meet her to transfer title because then it will ruin the surprise.

I might just eat the cost and get an instant title. I could really use the space for cars that would make me more money than this one.....
