Title Question for NC members

I am buying a Jeep titled in KY. The seller has a clear KY title signed and ready to go. I will sign the buyers section and have my part notarized. I can't get the seller part notarized. Will the lack of the notary on the sellers part prevent me from getting a title here in NC? KY does not do the notary thing on titles and I know NC requires it on NC titles. I have never bought a vehicle from out of state since I have lived here.

Anyone have any experience with this in NC?

You don't need it if they don't require it. NC honors other states title laws as far as I know. I've bought cars that only needed a signature on the title from other states and they never had an issue.

If Ky doesn't require it, then NC should have no issues.

I just signed and notarized the bottom section of a title the other day that the previous owner (NC) had signed and notarized his section at the top 3 years ago. Hopefully there are no issues with that other than the $15 fee for not transferring title within 28 days. The truck had been sitting at a shop waiting on getting the engine rebuilt that whole time, and my dad forgot about it since he bought it.
