Title question

Been way to long since i've been on here, had to reup the subscription.

Here's the deal, I bought a truck before I was stationed in japan and got deployed. Being the dumbass I am, I dicked around and didnt send the title off. I know you have a 28 day window to send the title off then you pay a fine. My question is what happens after 28 days, say like 2.5 years? lol The DMV being the comlete pitta that it always is wont load any of the website pages so i cant get info or a email to talk to them.

You should still be fine as long as it is notarized. I've done that before. All I had to do was pay the fee.

Awesome, does the fee add up or is it one straight fee?
Either way i'd rather pay a big fee then chase people down and sign a ton of paper work.

I can't remember that part. It also could've changed since then, but that was my experience.

was just a $15 dollar fee on a trailer I had, it was like 7 years old no question or anything she just filled out the stuff gave me a total and i rolled on

Fine for "Failure to Transfer Title Within 28 Days" is $15 according to the NC DMV site.

I find it hard to belive that it dosent add up over time, but I wont argue with them haha just send them $15 and be on my way. Thanks for the info guys!

It doesn't add up, at least not over 2 years. If you can't get it within 28 days, theres no need to be in a hurry.

Take a copy of your orders to the DMV. They may waive the fine since you were stationed overseas.

if its only $15 i dont really care, beside I hate "using" my service for things like that.

Its not "using" your service. It is a legitimate reason the title wasnt transferred yet.
