whats different? i agree, car lot = fraud. the conversation had nothing to do with commercial sales or even private sales. this is simply a discussion regarding what to do when you have LEGALLY purchased a vehicle in which there is a lost title. If you enjoy the redtape, there is a procedure at the DMV to show your bill of sale and apply for a reissue of a title due to lost title.


nothing in the matter presented is misrepresenting, or illegal. In fact it can be considered a bona fide attempt to save the state money from having to process a rediculous amount of paperwork. Your not stealing the identity of another vehicle that will be on the road.


if you have a jeep that has no title. So you buy a broken jeep with title, register and insure it but cant drive it yet, and you slowly *FIX* the broken jeep with all your good parts, who here would have a problem driving that jeep with title and registration? No one, unless you licked the wall too many times as a kid... There is nothing illegal doing it in reverse. The exact same is accomplished. Nothing has been misrepresented. Nothing is being concealed.
