I'm swapping out my TJ axles with a pair of Rubicon 44's and had a question about the brakes.

I'm two bolts away from dropping the rear, but I have not unhooked the brake lines. Do I need to drain the brakes, or pinch off the lines? Not sure how to proceed.

I know I'll have to bleed them once the new axles are in, just not sure what brake lines or where to disconnect from my current one.

Any advice?

*Edit- this can moved to axle tech. sorry

You do not have to drain not do you want to pinch off the metal lines. Just disconnect the main line at the tee above the pumpkin. Once you have the axle out, transfer the lines to the new axle. After installing the new axle, bleed the brakes.

That is what I was hoping. On my last axle swap, my buddy took care of the brakes.

Thanks!
