TJ Axles. What's best for a 35" tire

Hey guys I'm looking for some information on axles...

I'm wanting to stay with a smaller tire 35" possible move to a 37 one day. Currently I have a 8.8 and a d30. What's the best bang for you buck axles that would be good for this size tire?? Ford D44/9" is what iv planned on. But just wanna get more information. I use the jeep as a daily right now and wheel it as well. I would love tons but I think that's over kill for what I want 35" tires usually take me anywhere I wanna go.

Is there a axle out there that's the comparabl to the 8.8??? Other then a Rubicon d44 that are (1500$) the 8.8 has done very well for me.

The 8.8 is stronger than a 44 I know someone who had 38" reds on stock shafts and never broke, a 9in is overkill for 35s. I have seen a guy beat the hell out of a d30 with chromos on 36" tsl.
 
Do nothing for now, and eventually upgrade to a D44 front to match the 8.8 rear. I ran 36" Iroks (37" actual diameter) for a while on a D30 with no issues.
 
What d44 is the same width as a 8.8 that's not 1500$ ?? I don't wanna spend more then 500$ on a front axle Iv already broke the ring gear and pinnon once in this d30. I'm happy with the 8.8 if I could find a axle that is the same width and cheap like the 8.8 that would be ideal but I'm not gonna go thur the trouble of cutting a axle down when I can swap to full widths for fairly cheap

I can get a set of built full widths for 1000$ d44/9" locked and geared

This 8.8 will take way more than 35s. It can be had for cheaper than the cost of a new ful case locker as a matter of fact.
Add a Waggy 44 front or a HP44 front narrowed to Waggy width and you've got a solid set if axles.
Unless you wanna piss away big $$$ on a Ford 9, stay with something like an 8.8 or a 44.

So a waggy 44 is the same width as a 8.8???

What year should I be looking for?? Are the manual locking hubs??? What do the sell for?

Sorry for so many questions

I already have a 8.8 in my TJ just looking to replace my front axle..
 
Ive got Dana 30 high pinion with chromos and a lockright and an 8.8 with a mini spool. Geared 4.88 on 35s I've done everything I can to test the set up flopped my jeep and fallow guys on 40s and tons and have held my own with no major breakage yet
 
You need Rockwells for 35" tires if you ask some people hahaha

On a serious note, I had a waggy 44 front and a 8.8 rear on a heavy a$$ ZJ with 35s and never had a problem. I plan to run 35s on my current 8.8 and lp 30 and I don't anticipate many problems, all depends on how heavy your right foot is and how much WooPoww you have under the hood
 
any of the driver drop waggy 44 fronts will work nicely. TnT makes a weld on truss for it to utilize your coils and shocks. may have to do a little work to make your control arms work but I had one in my V-8 ZJ w/ 4.88, a Spartan, and 35 TTC claws and never had an issue. yes you can get full aftermarket support as far as lockouts, lockers, R&P, etc...
btw it is a 6x5.5 bolt pattern but if you run a conversion spacer for the 8.8 in the rear it will work out just fine. (just means new rims but steel 6x5.5 can be had for stupid cheap.
 
And the spacers help with the fact that the 8.8 is really a bit too narrow to begin with.
