I got a 99 TJ and I was driving it and cut if off for about 15 minutes and came back in to drive it and it was completely dead. I jumped it off with my buddy's truck and when I hooked up the cables, his battery died. When we got his truck running and got mine cranked up, it wouldnt idle. It would just rev up and the rpms would just go down to 0 and it would cut off. I let it run with my foot barely on the gas for about 15-20 minutes and i cut it off and tried to turn it back on and it was completly dead again. I jumped it again and drove it around and the battery gauge went all the way into the red 19. It's a brand new battery so Im not sure what the problem is. Altenator?

Any ideas?

Have the battery and alternator tested. Mine acted similar last summer (with the exception of 19 volts on the gauge) and it was a dead cell in the battery.

It might be the IAC or the TPS. Try cleaning them with some throttle body cleaner and see if it helps.
