TJ diagnostic codes/inspection question

I got a friendly reminder from our DMV that I needed to have my Jeep inspected. When I went to take it in the battery was dead which reset my PCM so I couldn't get it inspected.

I'm in deep doo-doo if I don't get it inspected by the first of the year. I've been driving it some but maybe not enough. When I check the codes I get 12,33,and 55. 12 says that the PCM was disconnected within the past 50 key ons. Is that going to keep me from getting it inspected? Do I just need to start it 50 times to get rid of it? How long does it take to go through a drive cycle?

Reset the codes and drive it. You should be fine. You need to either have a stack of key switches or 50 or so miles.

The computer will need to go through its learning cycle, different vehicles take different amounts of time to reach the "readness" status,. I am not sure exactly what the drive cycle is on that vehicle, but there are certain things that need to be completed in the drive cycle before all parameters are met.
Rule of thumb is 100 miles and the vehicle is usually ready to go.

if u take it 2 JEEP they can increase the ranges and it wont take as long. if u got a friend there they should do it for free. if u need the light pulled and cleared i have my own personal obd2 scanner (in charlotte) if u want me 2 clear it for u

AutoZone reads/clears them for free...

I have my own scanner, too...and the TJ we recently sold had a permanent CEL. If I reset it in the parking lot of the inspection station, I would get the "not ready to inspect" error (same thing you're getting)...if we went back in the next day-and-a-half or so, it would pass...and then the CEL would come back on the 3rd day. :D

Take it in and get it inspected, If it isn't ready they will give you more time. Like 30 days or so to get it ready and have it reinspected. Just take it to the same place.

It passed. Tech fought a no power fault 'til I told him to try a different connector adapter. Happens alot with my97.
