I made a post a while back regarding the same issue, but sadly never fixed it.

Well, first off the heat and AC never don't get hot nor cold. I'm not really worried about the AC but the heat needs to work. I have checked all the wires into the switches and all seem to be connected properly. If i drive the jeep until its at 210 degrees and turn the heat on it blows in cool air (a tad warmer then outside), but then if i let it idle for a few mins with the heat off then crank it to full blast it will blow hot hair for a second then cool down.

Also have tried just leaving it turned on for a while to see if it heats up and it never does. Only seems to be warm for a few seconds after being off for a few mins.

Any info would be wonderful, let me know if i didn't describe it good enough.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks Vortec, I plan to look for that today. That site just says passenger side trans tunnel so i hope its easy to locate.

Jeepin, how do you go about flushing the heater core? Do you have to remove it or it is possible to flush it without removing everything?

Thanks a lot guys, Mike

Check the door, flush the core. I did a Cherokee that had so much rust in it, the petcock didn't want to drain. When I started flushing the core, the water ran brown for a looong time. Get a good cooling system cleaner and follow the directions. You can disconnect various hoses and use a garden hose to flush it. You don't have to pull the core, just disconnect the lines at the motor that feed it, then run water through in both directions. It's going to take a while. I'd do it today, while it's warm.

check the hoeses and be sure they get hot. if they stay cold it either means the core is blocked and not allowing flow, if they get hot (both hoses) it means your getting circulation and its a blend door issue.

gt500swim, you sir are correct. I flushed it and stuff before i even checked that. Well after flushing it i ran it and checked that next, and sadly neither heated up. So i unattached the line that runs it to the core and started it and nothing came out. I'm going to pull the water pump and check the clogging.

Thanks for the help guys.

personally id change the thermostat while you have it apart, its a dollar piece that takes 20 minutes to change. and if you do then DONT use a adv. auto thermostat, they suck ass. the gmb water pumps are good though, theyre a good price for a brand new pump.
