Wasn't sure where to post but i was installing a lift on my tj when i broke the top shock bolt on the passenger side how can i remove the welded nut to replace it with a new one

Well, assuming the piece of bolt is still in the captured nut, you can take an easy-out to it and extract it, then thread a new bolt into the nut. You can drill out the bolt (assuming it won't come free in a less-destructive manner) and heli-coil the hole back to its original size. Assuming there is enough meat in the captured nut, you could drill out the bolt and tap to a larger size, too.

Thanks but i can't really get a drill in there it's so close to the frame plus the nut is in bad shape so i would like to get it out and put a new one in it's place that way when i change shocks next time i won't have the same problem

Often times I weld a washer over the broken bolt and then weld a nut to the washer and the heat from the weld usually loosens it up and it will back right out.
Im east asheville if I can be of any help.
And if that doesnt work im sure we can find other options.
