I recenty picked up a stock TJ roll bar/cage thanks to CJ5Steve on here. My question is have any of you ever done this. seems pretty easy just a few cuts and some nuts/bolts. but if there is a proven method id like to hear it. From my measurements I just need to chop a few inches off the legs. any help would be great.

You can wear flip flops inside of work boots. But should you?

Cages should be designed for each application. When a cage is put to the test, it needs to be functional not just easy (easier) to install.
When adding a cage to a unibody rig, you need to take precaution to where you put mounting feet and find structure underneath the sheetmetal.

I understand what you mean, my initial thought was just "this will be better than no roll cage" but point taken, ill definently take your advice into consideration.
