what size tires to put on a stock tj. would 31s fit or should he stay with 29s or 30s?

You can run 31X10.5-15 on a stock TJ

I ran 31s on mine for years with everything else stock.

thanks guys. My father-in-law wants to buy some tires for his stock tj and I wasnt sure what size would fit without doing any trimming or anything.

I ran 31's on my first TJ w/stock rims. They rubbed when turning. Changed to aftermarket rims. No more rub.

heres a pic of my 04 for reference.Those are Pro Comp 31x10.50/15's on stock Canyon wheels.No rubbing so far on the street,havent been offorad yet .Stil got to swap in my matching front axle.My gears are mismatched right now.

If you run a 10.5 tire with little to no side wall lung, you will be fine on the rubbing issue.

girlfriends dad runs 32 1150 bfgs on his stock 01 tj saharah. no lift, stock wheels, stock fenders etc, did upgrade steering stablizer though, very minor rubbing

I like it ,Im still running the stock gearing (4.10) in the rear and it isnt too bad even with the 4 cyl. I want to regear to 4.88's and swap to 33's next time around.
