Looking for a skid/belly pan for the tj. I have spent a month reading info all over, most of it is at least 5 years old , so I was hopping to find more current info.

I have looked at/researched skids from savvy, Rokman, ucf, teraflex, rough country, emp, rusty, genright , nth degree, Clayton, barnes, skyjacker, tmr, tnt, throtle down kustoms ... Any other skids I should consider?

I am looking for a 1 inch deep skid, in 1/4 inch steel, which rules out several of the companies mentioned.

Anyone run a raised skid on their tj? Opinions, thoughts, advice on which ones work and why?

Thank you for any advice and input in advance. I am frankly ready to pull the trigger on one, just hesitant on spending the cash on something I am unsure of.

Thanks again for reading!

id say Barnes has a couple to pick from and all his stuff is pretty beefy.

Edit: just realized he has a 3" 2" drop and a flat belly not a 1" like your looking for

Only 1" I know of is TMR, I'm sure there are other's thought. I have the Savvy and it's ~1.25" drop at the center section. One thing I can say is the Savvy guys love 1/4-20 bolts, thing is held together with 20 million of the little fuckers. Other than that I really like it but If I were to build one I'd buy a Barnes 2" drop or TMR 1" drop and mix it with a basic ass engine skid.

Savvy, flatest one out there, aluminum also which is nice and light. If you are going to do it, get it as flat as you can.

If you can do some fabrication, its not awful to make your own

Just an FYI, you're going to need an SYE, if you don't have one already.

We have UCF skids on one of the Jeeps. I'd probably build them from scratch if I had to do it again.

I have the 1st gen savvy which does use a lot of screws , but the newer gens cut that in half. Either of them are high clearance and will require some exhaust massaging .

I appreciate the input and advice. From what I have read the savvy is regarded as the best, but a little more money than most of the rest. I have been leaning toward the ucf, based on comments from people who have one. I like the idea of the Barnes flat skid, but am wary of clearance issues with it. Plus I am unsure about building a crossmember to support the trans, and transfer case. I previously added a 1 inch taller set of body mounts and a mml in preparation for the skid. A sye, and adjustable uppers are on the way to be installed with the skid. And I plan on having new exhaust pipe bent up after the skid install.
Anything else I am missing?
Thanks again for the input...
