I have an 04 tj lifted 4" it has a steering stabalizer but if i am on a road that is relatively rough occasionally it does this thing where my front axle goes nuts. It starts shaking and the only thing to do is slam on the brakes to about 10 mph and its fine.
A buddy of mine said he seen a wrangler driving and the exact same thing happened. Is this common? How is it fixed?

you have death wobble. can be from numerous things from warn steering components ex trac bar bushings, tie tods. alignment is off, bad steering angle. did ypu get a drop pitman arm with ur kit? trac bar relocation bracket?

Thats what i thought, but it isnt at high speeds but i suppose that doesnt matter. Im honestly not sure. I bought the jeep yesterday with the kit already on and i havent really looked at the kit in detail.

I love death wobble threads. Get under and tighten EVERYTHING. Then have someone start the jeep and turn the wheel back and forth. Look at how everything moves. If you see play in aything, tighten it some more. Drive it. If you get no love from that, get the tires balanced and have an alignment done. FYI, you can do the alignment yourself if you have basic tools and a tapemeasure.

then tomorrow if u have spair time id go over everything checking all the components and see if you hae a dropped pitman arm and a tracbar relocation bracket or a adjustable trac bar

I brought the jeep in our shop, it had the dropped pitman arm, and tracbar relocation bracket. All the bushings were good, apparently the guy just had it serviced, everything was greased. So i guess i will try balancing the tires.

That trackbar relocation bracket can be troublesome it it's loose. Make good and sure it's good and tight. While the tires are off for balancing, it's a great time to set the tow in. Measure the distance from brake rotor to brake rotor on the front and back of the rotors. You want 1/8" less distance on the rotor to rotor measurement. Proper tow in is critical on these things to fix/cure death wobble. Good luck.
