Members of the 26th North Carolina will be in the Walnut Cove area recruiting to rebuild the regiment after our losses during the battle of Gettysburg in our efforts to take the fight to the homes of the northern invaders.After building our unit to be the largest in General lee's army at 800 men,our losses at the end of 3 days dropped us down to 167 with the total dessimation of 2 full companies on the first day alone.I ask of you to look upon your inner selves and ask what YOU can do for the protection of your homes,women,and above all,the state in which you live and love.A bounty is also offered at 100 dollars state script to join.You will not recieve that if you are conscripted into a unit not of your choice or worse yet taken into custody by local home guard units and forced into worse. If interrested in checking us out,we will be in camp this weekend on the farm of one of our veterans in Walnut Cove.There will be better than 100 of us camping and drilling.
