i need some help trying to make up my mind on whether to bob the bed of my 86 xtra cab or to leave a full bed. i dont do any extreme wheeling but im not soft on my trucks. this truck is mainly for uwharrie and carolina backwoods. and maybe gulches. the bed has no rust so it kinda makes me not want to cut it down. give me your opinions on it. ill put up some pics and you can chime in anytime.

not exactly the best pics, but you get the idea. ill put up some better ones tomorrow. to me the back just hangs so far over the rear axle that its goofy looking. add to the fact i have no rear bumper makes it stand out so much worse.

86 toyota xtra cab.

i really did think about that. because as you can see that is a 89-95 bed. i had the original bed but it was pretty bad off. i also thought about a tube bed but i like to carry things on the trail with me.

it was hard to bob my pretty bed but it was WAY worth it!!

i think bob'd beds look best. tube beds look funny sometimes when you're running leafs. the factory framerails aren't any sort of center piece to show off or anything. i'd bob it. if you tube it, put the bed skins around it. my 2 cents!

Bob

Bobbed bed.

Yah the frame has already been cut cause the guy that I got it from had a allpro tube bed. I didnt like it then but now that it big I think it would have looked pretty nice.

Near the bottom of the page. I still have the plans if you are interested.

i should have never sold that bed when after i bought it off of you. that thing was beeeeef.

i say BOBBY. ill be doing mine after i get this dang wedding outta the way. from my wheeling experience, it not only helps with departure angle, but if start down a trail and decide to turn around for whatever reason, a bobbed bed beats the crap outta jammin a full one in the bank to get turned around

xtra cab with all pro tube bed.

does anyone know where or how to find the all pro flatbed kit. the website doesnt have it listed. and im not sure where else to find it. and does anyone know a price on it. im kinda regreting getting rid of the one i had. even though it wasnt perfect i could have fixed it.
