I have an opportunity to buy some 2 pillar car lifts. Not sure of all the details yet other than I know I can't fit one in my garage. But its one of those "one of these days" agenda items. Is there any market for used lifts, I guess I've never seen them advertised but don't want to get stuck with these things if I never get a shop big enough to use them. A new lift made in USA is roughly $2500-$3000 so if I get them cheap enough I should be able to un-load them without taking a loss right???

you usually don't see used lifts because they are hard to find. they are usually sold before they are even taken down. that being said, it also depends on the brand. i have a rotary that's over 20 years old and can still pick up the phone and get parts for it with ease.

You should have no trouble selling them for under a grand. I believe you can buy them new for $1500ish, so even if you have good, made in USA stuff, you will have to compete with that. I've seen em as cheap as $600 in decent shape, but they are usually closer to the $1000 and up mark.

You can always sell me one. Depending on how my house stuff goes, I may be building a shop soon and it will definitely have room for a lift. What brand are they? What kind specs?

And why wasn't I kept in the loop ?

I guess the carrier pigeon didn't swing by your place Hoop.... :flipoff2:
