The TTB D50 in my F250 has needed ball joints for a long time now, I was saving up to swap in a D60 but all this time saving money has led me to over analyze the swap and question its worth.

So! Should I even deal with the swap or should I just repair the TTB? It will need new ball joints and U-joints and an alignment (duh).

Is it mostly asphault driver? If so just fix the TTB. The only real problems with TTB are when you lift it or abuse it off road in my opinion.

The brakes are the same. You'll probably have to put some money into the D60 when you get it... and you might end up with a BJ D60 in the end, anyway. Fixing the ball joints won't cost but a couple hundred bucks. I'm not even sure I'd pay money for an alignment afterward. If the D50 ball joints go together like the D44 TTB ones (not sure), then you can't fawk up the caster/camber if you put it back together like it came apart. The only thing left is toe, and you can do that with a tape measure.

If you spend a lot of time on the road or in the sand and don't plan on running anything over 37's and 4" of lift, I'd keep the 50.

Looks like you wheel yours though, the only times mine really sees off road driving is when I'm trying to get to a trailer or get somewhere with one.
