I have RE 1.5" SOA springs right now on my 93 YJ. I am going SOA, but should I trade a pair of these RE springs for XJ springs to stretch the rear?

if so, what are the advantages?
disadvantages?

I will be running <= 37" tires on GM14bolt + D44

lots of flex and more stable on up hills, but you have to comp cut, move gas tank, and lots of axle wrap... make a traction bar

71Chevytruckguy just finished this up over the weekend, Xj springs in the front and rear, 5 springs per pack in rear, 7 per pack in front.

You shoulda seen all the xj springs laying around.

It looks good... I would say go for it.

As Xj freak said, I just finshed mine up. I'm runnin a 5 gallon fuel cell I stole from my drag truck that fits behind the rear seat. I'm from Kernersville also, so if ya wanna come check it out send me a PM and I'll send ya my number.

I have been planning to do a stretch on my YJ how many inches did you get from the XJ springs? Did you move just the rear shackle mount or front and rear?

This one will fit behind the seat

We've seen one out of every three of these leak. The 16 gauge Aluminum doesnt like to hold up very well even strapped to and mounted to a flat piece of plate with a supported bottom.

how much does that guy hold?
your rig is looking good, I'll try to get with you one day and come check it out.
I think I am going to do the stretch, seems like a smart way to go.

Msperlazza: I think you get 5", each pair. in the rear have to relocate the shackle hangers like 71chevytruckguy's picture above

I'm sittin on about a 106" wheel base. Moved the shackle hangers front and rear, used stock frame mounts at the non-shackle end. Got all my brackets from Barnes 4WD. Cell holds 5 gallons.
