Found this in the attic crawlspace between my basement ceiling and first floor yesterday while doing some HVAC work. It was way back in the corner and I can't figure out what it is. It's about 2-3' tall and about 8" in diameter and is very heavy. Looks like there was some kind of knob or opening on the left side but it is broken. It has a Cal Glass MFG stamp on it. Best I can think of is some kind of gas trap for chemistry or for making meth...

Any ideas?

I've seen similar things for a trap or distillation, the broken off part on the side is likely either a vent or another tube fitting. No idea what it would have been used for though.

I think it’s an old school wine fermenter jug

I found a "Hook", "Attachment", Fuller made? Short chain attached & laying on a country road, with new houses being built. Probably "Propose Built" for someone's trailer. Ever seen one?

Not the Regular What Is It, but looking for an explanation. I guess as part of the Infrastructure Bill, Duke/ Dominion, is tossing around plenty of money! The Updates to the power grid is appreciated, but the road lane closures get annoying. And I see many Good utility poles, being replaced with Taller ones. I snapped the best pic I could, but the colors don't show. Now the new poles are getting a weird looking attachment, on top of them. Four new lines, separated by say 20", are being added. Even the Crossbar has odd looking extensions. Then there are red jumper cables, dangle down and connect to side to side single lines. The four on top, are colored; Red, Yellow, Blue, & Green. Why? What? Broadband? The Whole Assembly, is New to me!

It looks like they are stringing new line to replace the older ones. The three on the extensions should be the old lines, moved up from the old pole. The fourth one that is slack is probably a new one they are feeding off a spool. Once all three new lines are run they will take out the old lines and remove the extensions from the new poles. They came through here and did the same thing a few years back.

The colored ropes are the pull ropes for the new lines. They are simply color coded to identify which line is being pulled.

Duke recently did this to the lines on the street behind me. Taller poles with new lines and new phase monitoring equipment.

I took that pic while I was parked in the street for 15 minutes, as a bucket truck sat in the middle of the street, getting lines across. I've seen & even on these sites, the white line that is generally 100' or so, tied to the new line it's pulling. But these four colored lines, are several hundred feet or more! If it's Pull lines, they might long!
