Monster Oak came down at Granny’s house recently. Nice coffee tables for the fire pit or are they too much?
 
That's awesome. Just hope they don't split. I've read you can soak them in antifreeze or surgar solutions to keep them from splitting
 
Those are awesome! My wife would say they are "too chunky" but she says the same thing about me, so she doesn't know what's up.
 
Imagine if you substituted plastic chairs and a fire ring of river rock with burned beer cans in the ashes. That's the other side of that coin.

I mean I guess technically its old "bag chairs" and a fire pit of pavers..and we usually get it hot enough to melt the aluminum, but...
 
This is about as redneck as it gets, but dammit, when I tell somebody to stop by, crack open a few cold ones and pull up a stump, I ain't kidding. You sir are totally getting the vibe!

At least you have chairs. My chairs are this season’s cut logs around a fire pit of random rocks from every place we raced ecors. Redneck enough? There is even a piece of coal from Harlan that hasn’t caught fire yet.
That's actually quite cool. Did you label the rocks?
What makes it redneck is how to tag them...
 
I like them. Anymore of the tree left?

Got most of it gone, but there’s still a lot of good firewood left for whoever wants to cut and load it up. Here’s what we started with.

If you get all that cut up and stored in sunlight, you will have some killer firewood come December.
 
The close one would be cool to build a pit out of.... cut/burn the center out of it and line it with steel or fire brick.

I would probly put bricks under the logs to keep them off the ground, but it'll take a long damn time to rot either way.

Considering the tree still had leaves on it when it fell, I would say it would need a year to season. Just my experience with oak....

Technically yes if you're burning it indoors. With oak and hickory I'll start cooking with it sooner just for added flavor

Looks good to me. I have some pecan I cut down this year stored under the falling down pole barn for cooking. I just don't cook often.
 
Only problem I see is they don't look level.

I test fit a cold beverage at every seated position and not a drop was spilled. Let’s call it eyeballed good enough.
