What about the trackbar bolt scares you? That it's vertical instead of horizontal?
No, the part that it's enduring a massive load in single shear. Every bump you hit, every time you turn the steering wheel, that bolt is seeing a load. By the bolt being in single shear(versus going through a tab, then flex joint, then another tab, like a suspension link), it's strength is equivalent to a bolt 1/4-1/3 of it's size. Just to top it off, the load is all on the threaded portion of the bolt, aka, the weakest part of the bolt for shear loading.
Yes I'm nit-picky, but it's something that most people overlook or think, "it'll be alright, a bunch of companies do theirs that way". And 99% of that reasoning is to be able to say "all bolt on, no welding required". Sure, lots of people drive their jeeps around with this setup and no bus loads of nuns are harmed, that doesn't make it right/smart. There's quite a few easy fixes for it, all of which will require welding. The biggest pain is getting that factory bracket off the frame, but it can be done, neatly.
Otherwise, I'm not a big jeep fan, but there's just something about those LJ's that I like.
